On January 26, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "CIMC SOE") successfully held the keel-laying ceremony for the second 15,000-cubic-meter refrigerated carrier (Project No.: S1140) built for Shanghai Changzheng Marine Transportation Co., Ltd. The ceremony was witnessed by Yu Pengfei, Captain and Primary Officer of the Qihai Port Maritime Patrol Law Enforcement Brigade, Nantong Qidong Maritime Affairs Office; Wu Renchun, the shipowner's Project Manager; Zhang Bohao, the surveyor representative; and members of the project team.

The vessel has an overall length of 146 meters, a beam of 22 meters, a depth of 12 meters, a design draft of 7.9 meters, and a design speed of approximately 16 knots. With a cargo capacity of 15,130 cubic meters, it is primarily used for the cross-port transportation of temperature-sensitive goods such as fisheries catch, offering excellent cargo capacity and sailing stability. The ship features six refrigerated holds utilizing a zoned cooling system, supporting deep-cold transportation down to -35°C, effectively serving as a "floating refrigerator" navigating the oceans. Classed by China Classification Society (CCS), the vessel has Ice Class B navigation capability and is equipped with multiple environmentally friendly features including a ballast water treatment system and an optimized Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) solution, aligning with green shipping development trends.

It is reported that the series of refrigerated carriers ordered by Shanghai Changzheng Marine Transportation Co., Ltd. comprises 4+4 vessels. Currently, four vessels have entered the construction phase, with the first vessel, S1139, scheduled for launch soon. Faced with the demanding task of simultaneous construction for multiple vessels under a tight schedule, the CIMC SOE project team remains focused on the objectives of "meeting milestones, ensuring quality, and guaranteeing delivery." The team is coordinating resources, optimizing construction processes, and strictly controlling quality to fully ensure the shipbuilding milestones progress steadily according to plan.
Moving forward, CIMC SOE will continue to leverage its advantages in the offshore equipment construction sector, advancing the subsequent construction work with high standards and stringent requirements. The company is committed to ensuring the high-quality and timely delivery of the vessel, thereby assisting the client in enhancing its cold chain logistics equipment capabilities and jointly promoting the green transformation of the shipping industry.
