2025-12-13

Recently, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "CIMC SOE") has secured a contract for the construction of 6+2 1800 TEU container vessels, marking another significant market recognition for the company in the container shipbuilding sector.

The order comprises six firm vessels and two optional vessels. The first vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2027, with subsequent vessels to be delivered quarterly. The delivery of all optional vessels is expected to be completed by September 2029, providing a stable order pipeline for the company's sustained production.

It is reported that the buyer is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Danaos Corporation (hereinafter "Danaos"), one of the world's largest independent owners of container vessels. Headquartered in Athens, Greece, and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, Danaos operates a fleet ranking among the largest globally. This batch of 1800 TEU container vessels has secured long-term charter agreements with a major liner company, with four vessels already obtaining 10-year charters. This demonstrates clear market prospects and a solid operational foundation.

This in-depth cooperation with a renowned international shipping enterprise not only signifies the client's high recognition of CIMC SOE's technical capabilities and construction quality but also lays a solid foundation for the company to further expand its presence in the global container vessel market. CIMC SOE will continue to leverage its comprehensive strengths in shipbuilding and project management to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of this project, persistently contributing to the development of global shipping.
