On December 11, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "CIMC SOE") grandly held the steel-cutting ceremony for its first floating barge project at the Jinhai Base. Distinguished guests gathered to witness this significant milestone, including Michel Hendriks, COO of HEEREMA; Klaas Heerema, General Manager; Daniel Birckenstock, Project Director of TenneT's 2GW Program; Richard Welch, LR Foreign Shipowner Account Manager; Gao Wenbao, Vice President of CIMC ENRIC and General Manager of CIMC SOE; Wang Jianding, Executive Deputy General Manager of CIMC SOE; Zhou Lubing, Deputy General Manager; Wei Guangsheng, Assistant General Manager; and members of the project team.
Prior to the ceremony, to ensure the event's safe and orderly conduct, Zhang Yongtao, Deputy Director of the HSE & Security Department, delivered a safety briefing. He explained on-site safety precautions and emergency response procedures, laying a solid safety foundation for the smooth progression of the ceremony.

The ceremony commenced officially with a welcome speech by Gao Wenbao, Vice President of CIMC ENRIC and General Manager of CIMC SOE. On behalf of the company, he extended a warm welcome to all guests present and expressed sincere gratitude to partners, industry peers, and relevant organizations for their long-standing support during the project preparation. In his address, Mr. Gao conveyed the company's full confidence in the high-quality advancement of the barge project and its firm commitment to deepening cooperation and achieving mutual development with all parties involved. His words were earnest and inspiring.
Following this, Michel Hendriks, COO of HEEREMA, took the stage to deliver remarks. He spoke highly of CIMC SOE's technical capabilities and manufacturing experience in the offshore engineering equipment sector, expressing great anticipation for the collaboration. He stated that HEEREMA would provide full support for the project's construction, working together to create an industry benchmark project.
Subsequently, Richard Welch, LR Foreign Shipowner Account Manager, addressed the audience. He extended warm congratulations on the project's commencement and pledged professional technical supervision and services to assist in ensuring the project adheres to high standards, guaranteeing its quality and compliance.
Amidst the witness of all guests, the ceremony proceeded to the exciting ribbon-cutting segment. Leaders and invited guests took the stage, holding golden scissors to cut the ribbon symbolizing a new beginning. This act officially marked the floating barge project's entry into the substantive construction phase. Klaas Heerema, General Manager of HEEREMA, proceeded to the cutting machine console and pressed the start button. Sparks flew from the cutter, accompanied by the sound of firecrackers, symbolizing an auspicious start and a bright future for the project.
