Recently, the final set of the 13,000m³ ultra-large Type B tank series project, T153, built by Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “CIMC SOE”) for Guangzhou Shipyard International, was successfully shipped.

During the project construction phase, the project team thoroughly reviewed the practical experience and technical expertise gained from the first project. Through analysis and improvements in process optimization, equipment debugging, personnel operation standards, quality control measures, and other dimensions—such as optimizing welding parameters, introducing high-precision measuring instruments, and enhancing monitoring procedures—the team successfully resolved challenges including thin-plate welding deformation and precision control in ultra-large project fabrication. After the completion of the Type B tank structure, the overall flatness of the shell plates was significantly improved, and both aesthetics and manufacturing precision were greatly enhanced, earning high praise and recognition from the client, shipowner, and ship inspection agency.

With the successful delivery of the T153 project, CIMC SOE has completed the construction of two ship sets of 13,000m³ Type B tanks for GSI. It is reported that the collaboration between CIMC SOE and GSI has also launched five ship sets of 7,500m³ Type B tank projects, with both parties continuing to deepen their cooperation on Type B tank projects.
