CIMC SOE's first SPP40 platform supply vessel successfully launched

On July 10th, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (CIMC SOE) held the launching ceremony for its first SPP40 Platform Supply Vessel (Hull No.: S1095). Distinguished guests attending the ceremony included Chen Hong, Senior Expert and General Manager of the Ship Business Department of CDB Leasing; Zhang Jia, Deputy General Manager of the Ship Business Department of CDB Leasing; Weng Huigan, General Manager of SPEC; Ulrich Adami, General Manager of Hartmann; Chen Biao, Vice President of BV China Region; Gao Wenbao, Vice President of CIMC Enric and General Manager of SOE; Wang Jianding, Deputy General Manager of CIMC SOE; Lou Jiwei, Senior Advisor of CIMC SOE; and Chen Bin, Deputy General Manager of the Shipbuilding Business Department of CIMC SOE.



Prior to the ceremony, Ma Qianjing, Deputy Director of the HSE Department at CIMC SOE, delivered a detailed safety briefing to all attendees, outlining safety precautions and emergency measures to ensure the secure and orderly conduct of the event. The ceremony then officially commenced with an uplifting drum performance.



Chen Bin, Deputy General Manager of the Shipbuilding Business Department at CIMC SOE, delivered the welcome speech. On behalf of all CIMC SOE employees, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to SPEC, CDB Leasing, the BV team, the Hartmann supervision team, Qianyao Heavy Industry, and the project team for their strong support and professional collaboration. He emphasized that this cooperation ensured the project's safety, quality, and efficient progress. Moving forward, CIMC SOE will continue to deepen cooperation with participating units, shipowners, and classification societies to fully guarantee project delivery.



Chen Hong, Senior Expert and General Manager of the Ship Business Department at CDB Leasing, extended sincere thanks to all builders and partners in his speech. He highly commended the professional contributions of the SPEC team and the construction capabilities of CIMC SOE. He noted that the S1095 vessel, featuring cutting-edge design and high-end configurations, represents an industry-leading standard. Its successful launching marks a new starting point for industry-finance collaboration. CDB Leasing will continue to deepen cooperation with all parties in the industrial chain to jointly promote the high-quality development of offshore equipment.



Weng Huigan, General Manager of SPEC, stated in his speech that the successful launch of S1095 embodies the wisdom and hard work of multi-party collaboration. As SPEC's first SPP40 offshore vessel, its construction overcame the technical challenges typical of a maiden vessel. The launch signifies a new beginning for SPEC's business development. The company will continue to provide high-quality products based on the principle of mutual benefit and looks forward to deepening cooperation with all parties to explore new opportunities in the offshore sector.



Following the speeches, an agile and spirited lion dance performance added a festive atmosphere to the ceremony. Four leaders – Gao Wenbao (Vice President of CIMC Enric & GM of SOE), Chen Hong (Senior Expert & GM of Ship Business Dept., CDB Leasing), Weng Huigan (GM of SPEC), and Chen Biao (VP of BV China Region) – performed the traditional eye-dotting ceremony for the lions, offering their best wishes for the new vessel. As the ropes were cut and a champagne bottle smashed against the hull, the S1095 slid into the water, officially marking its launch.



This multi-functional platform supply vessel has an overall length of 81.75 meters, a moulded breadth of 17.40 meters, a moulded depth of 7.8 meters, and a design draft of 6.3 meters. With a deadweight of 4,000 tons, it is equipped with two tunnel bow thrusters and two full-revolution rudder propellers, powered by a hybrid diesel-electric system, and classed by BV. The vessel features notations including Unmanned Machinery Space (UMS), 7-day Zero-Emission capability, DP2 (Dynamic Positioning Class 2), Fi-Fi 1 (Fire-Fighting Class 1) external firefighting capability, Oil Recovery (OR) operation capability, and Vibration and Noise Comfort Class 3. Its deck cargo area covers 800 square meters and is specifically designed to transport various supplies including methanol, fresh water, fuel oil, cement, mud, drilling water, and deck cargo.

The successful launch of S1095 marks a solid step forward for CIMC SOE in expanding into the offshore vessel market and serving the global offshore engineering sector.
