On December 3rd, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CIMC SOE") successfully held the keel laying ceremony for the first 40,000 cubic meter LPG/Ammonia carrier (S1083), built for Avance Gas, in the West Area.

The event was attended by the shipowner’s resident manager Yavuz Halac and his team, LR Classification Society's resident project manager Zhao Wu and his team, Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer of CIMC SOE, Mr. Zhou Lubing, along with representatives from the project team.

This vessel belongs to a new generation of MGC carriers, measuring approximately 180 meters in length, 29.8 meters in breadth, and 18.7 meters in depth, classed by LR. Designed based on the concept of "green, energy-saving, and environmental protection," the ship is equipped with a MAN environmentally friendly dual-fuel main engine. Additionally, it features an auxiliary generator connected to the free end of the main engine, an energy-saving duct at the front of the propeller, and vortex-reducing fins at the rear, achieving a design speed of 16 knots. The EEDI meets Phase III requirements, and the NOx emissions from the main engine comply with Tier III standards. Both the speed and fuel consumption indicators have reached international leading levels, making it an LPG carrier that satisfies the latest emission requirements and uses clean energy.

Moreover, the ship is fitted with three independent fully refrigerated A-type cargo tanks, providing a total cargo capacity of 40,000 cubic meters. Besides LPG, it can also transport liquid ammonia and VCM among other petrochemical products.

Looking ahead, CIMC SOE will continue to focus on enhancing its core competitiveness and achieving high-quality development goals. Our company will also actively respond to the global trend towards green shipping by promoting the application of clean energy equipment, reducing environmental pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, and contributing positively to the development of global green shipping.A
