CIMC SOE delivered second 7,600 cbm LNG bunkering vessel to Seaspan Energy

    On October 23rd, the second 7,600 cubic meter LNG bunkering vessel (S1062) built by Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd., (hereafter referred to as "CIMC SOE") for Seaspan Energy of Canada was successfully named and delivered. The naming and delivery ceremony was attended by Ahmed Khan, Project Manager of Seaspan Energy, Fatma Shakur, Technical Officer of BSM Ship Management, Mustafa Bilgin, Regional Manager for New Buildings in Shanghai of Bureau Veritas (BV), Lou Jiwei, Deputy General Manager of CIMC SOE, Zhou Lubing, Deputy General Manager, Shen Lintao, Deputy General Manager of the shipbuilding division, among others.


    During the delivery ceremony, Shen Lintao, Deputy General Manager of the shipbuilding division of CIMC SOE, spoke on behalf of the company. He stated that the S1062 vessel had undergone countless meticulous adjustments and rigorous inspections, representing the fruits of close collaboration and joint efforts between the company and its partners. He expressed gratitude to the project team of the shipowner, classification societies, and all employees of CIMC SOE for their hard work. Shen emphasized that CIMC SOE will continue to uphold the spirit of "Never Give Up, Challenge the Limits", and strive to build more high-quality products that meet market demands and lead industry development.


    Ahmed Khan, Project Manager of Seaspan Energy, expressed in his speech that he felt honored to be appointed as the project manager for three LNG bunkering barges of Seaspan Energy, which also fulfilled his dream of visiting China. On behalf of Seaspan Energy, he extended sincere gratitude to the members of the project team and all cooperating parties. The resilience demonstrated by the team at CIMC SOE throughout the shipbuilding process deeply impressed him and embodied the spirit of China.


    Godmother Fatma Shakur expressed her honor in becoming the godmother of the S1062 vessel, naming it "Seaspan Lions," symbolizing that the vessel would sail the seas with fearless spirit and great strength, overcoming all difficulties and challenges.


    Following the on-site ceremony, both parties held a solemn delivery signing ceremony in the West Conference Room, where they signed the formal delivery documents. This marks the successful completion of this cooperation project between CIMC SOE and Seaspan Energy and lays a solid foundation for further cooperation in the future.


    It is known that this series of 7,600 cubic meter LNG bunker barges comprises three vessels in total. The first vessel was successfully delivered in August this year, and today's delivery of the S1062 vessel is the second in the series. The vessel is equipped with a direct current power distribution system, powered by three dual-fuel generators, and propelled by two 1600KW azimuth thrusters, enhancing economic efficiency while maintaining environmental performance. It is hoped that the S1062 vessel will showcase outstanding performance and environmental advantages during its voyages, contributing to the sustainable development of the global shipping industry.
