Recently, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "CIMC SOE") completed the final phase of the first 10-vessel ammonia fuel tank series project for Qingdao SUNRUI, with the last set—T285—successfully lifted, loaded, and shipped. This milestone marks the successful conclusion of the entire series, spanning from material cutting and fabrication to process inspection and final delivery, fulfilling customer commitments with efficient problem-solving capabilities and rigorous quality control.

The delivered ammonia fuel tanks feature two Type C tanks per vessel, each approximately 12 meters in diameter and 31 meters in length, with a design capacity of 3,000 cubic meters, classed with Lloyd's Register (LR). Each tank is equipped with an enclosed TCS system on top, ensuring both safety and stability. The complete set will be installed on the 210,000 DWT ammonia-fueled bulk carriers built at Qingdao Beihai Shipyard, providing core equipment support for green and low-carbon shipping.
Due to the unique properties of ammonia, the shipowner imposed stringent design requirements, making fabrication and construction extremely challenging. The project demanded exceptional R&D and manufacturing capabilities. More critically, as the world's first such project, all detailed and production designs were independently completed by CIMC SOE with no prior reference. Despite these constraints, the team overcame technical obstacles including material processing parameter exploration, welding procedure qualification, integrated stress-relief solutions, and piping safety verification—many of which were industry-first innovations. As the project progressed, fabrication processes matured, construction workflows were continuously optimized, and both efficiency and product quality steadily improved. The entire series achieved a near-100% first-pass acceptance rate for inspections, with zero safety incidents, zero customer complaints, and 100% on-time delivery, fully demonstrating CIMC SOE's refined production and quality control capabilities.

The successful completion of this 10-vessel ammonia fuel tank series further consolidates the strategic cooperation between CIMC SOE and industry leaders such as SUNRUI and Qingdao Beihai Shipyard, deepening mutual trust and collaborative development.
