Recently, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "CIMC SOE") celebrated two significant achievements: the official commencement of a 20,000m³ LNG bunker and carrier (Hull No.: S1128) for Singapore's Equatorial Marine Fuel Management Services Pte. Ltd. (hereinafter "EMF"), and the successful keel laying of another 20,000m³ LNG bunker and carrier (Hull No.: S1129) for Somtralux SA. The rapid advancement of both projects highlights the company's leading manufacturing strength and market recognition in the global LNG transportation equipment sector.
Crafting a Green Benchmark: EMF Cooperation Vessel Commences Construction
On April 15, the construction commencement ceremony for the 20,000m³ LNG bunker and carrier for EMF was held at the West Zone Manufacturing Division workshop. The ceremony was witnessed by Choong Sheen Mao, COO of EMF; Choong Kien Siong, President; Choong-Ong Gek Hoon, Managing Director; Goutam Saha, SMC Site Manager; Lu Caigen, representative from DNV; Wang Jianding, Executive Deputy General Manager of CIMC SOE; Shang Jinyan, Deputy General Manager; Wei Guangsheng, Assistant General Manager; Lou Jiwei, Senior Advisor; Chen Bin, Deputy General Manager of the Shipbuilding Business Division; and members of the company's project team.

As a leading marine fuel supply company in Singapore, EMF operates a fleet of approximately 30 tankers, specializing in the supply of low/zero-carbon marine fuels such as LNG and methanol. It has been named Singapore's largest-volume fuel supplier for two consecutive years. The 20,000m³ LNG bunker and carrier that commenced construction is a next-generation benchmark green vessel. With an overall length of 160 meters, a beam of 25 meters, and a design speed of 15.5 knots, it integrates storage, transport, and ship-to-ship bunkering functions.

Precise Execution and Efficient Progress: Somtralux SA Cooperation Vessel Successfully Keel Laid
On April 17, the 20,000m³ LNG bunker and carrier for Somtralux SA successfully achieved its keel-laying milestone at the West Zone No. 1 building berth. The event was witnessed by Yves Pauwels, General Manager of shipowner Somtralux SA; Bi Jingtao, China Regional Manager of supervision company EXMAR; Li Jun, representative from DNV; Chen Bin, Deputy General Manager of CIMC SOE's Shipbuilding Business Division; Wen Zhengqing, Director of the Ship Marketing Department; and members of the company's project team.
The vessel's core configurations highlight environmental and efficiency advantages: it is equipped with the latest WINGD dual-fuel main engine and intelligent exhaust gas recirculation (iCER) system, capable of meeting IMO Tier III emission standards whether operating on conventional fuel or LNG. This reduces fuel/gas consumption by 2-3% and significantly decreases methane slip and greenhouse gas emissions. The cargo containment system has been optimized to achieve a boil-off rate lower than similar vessels on the market, effectively reducing operating costs. The vessel is also fitted with a reserved high-voltage shore power interface, enabling zero carbon emissions while in port, comprehensively addressing the stringent environmental demands of the global shipping industry.
As a leading enterprise in the global small and medium-sized liquefied gas carrier segment, CIMC SOE continues to deepen its research and development of green vessels and clean energy equipment. The simultaneous advancement of these two projects further consolidates the company's technological advantages and market position in the gas carrier sector. Moving forward, the company will continue to strengthen its full-spectrum liquefied gas carrier design and construction capabilities, providing superior products and services to support the sustainable development of the global shipping industry.
