Celebration on Production Day | CIMC SOE delivered the third 7,200 cbm LEG vessel

    On September 20th, coinciding with the 42nd anniversary of CIMC's production commencement, a naming and delivery ceremony for the third 7,200 cbm dual-fuel ethylene gas carrier (S1065), built by Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CIMC SOE") for Hartmann Group, was grandly held at CIMC SOE's East Yard.


    The ship's godmother, Ms. Riri Hisatomi, along with Ilka Hartmann (Head of Legal/Real Estate Department at Hartmann), Michael Hoppe (CFO of Hartmann), Ulrich Adami (Managing Director of Hartmann Group), Jan-Lars Kruse (Director of Hartmann), Captain Jaroslaw Calkiewicz (Master of S1065), Ionut Cornea (Newbuilding Manager of Hartmann), Long Yefei (Manager of Greater China Region at Hartmann), Thomas Schmidt (General Manager of GasChem), Hou Juzhen (Global Vice President of DNV), Shingo Ikeda (Manager of Ethylene Department at Marubeni), Torben Hvilsted (Broker at Sixtus Shipping), Long Jie (Deputy General Manager of Wuyang Steel Co., Ltd.), Wang Jianding (Executive Deputy General Manager of CIMC SOE), Lou Jiwei (Deputy General Manager of CIMC SOE), and Shen Lintao (Deputy General Manager of Shipbuilding Division of CIMC SOE) were among the leaders and guests who witnessed the event.

 

    At the naming ceremony, Shen Lintao, Deputy General Manager of the Shipbuilding Division of CIMC SOE, delivered an enthusiastic speech. He expressed deep respect for all colleagues involved in the design and construction of S1065 and thanked the Hartmann Group for their long-term trust in our team as well as the significant support provided by DNV throughout the project. Mr.Shen emphasized that the naming of this ship is not just a ceremony but also a symbol of high expectations. We hope that this advanced ethylene gas carrier will provide robust support to the global energy supply chain.

 

    Ulrich Adami, Managing Director of Hartmann Group, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all members of the team involved in the construction of the vessel, acknowledging their hard work and outstanding contributions. He particularly thanked the godmother of the project and wished S1065 a successful journey ahead, hoping it would achieve more milestones in the future.

 

    Thomas Schmidt, General Manager of GasChem Services, expressed his honor in attending the naming ceremony, stating that the delivery of S1065 not only demonstrates CIMC SOE's strength in the ethylene carrier market but also highlights its relentless pursuit of innovation and collaborative spirit.

 

    Hou Juzhen, Vice President of DNV, said in her remarks that DNV is honored to provide classification services and safety assurance for this series of vessels. The S1065 showcases CIMC SOE's exceptional capabilities in the gas carrier construction market. She also expressed gratitude for the trust and cooperation from both companies over the years and pledged that DNV will continue to enhance ship safety through professional services and technical support, reducing potential risks and improving overall reliability and trustworthiness.

 

    Following the speeches, a spectacular lion dance performance imbued the ceremony with a festive atmosphere, symbolizing good fortune and prosperity. Executive Deputy General Manager Wang Jianding of CIMC SOE and Godmother Riri Hisatomi performed the traditional eye-dotting ceremony for the lions, signifying prosperity for the business partners. Godmother Riri Hisatomi named the ship "GasChem Phoenix", wishing everyone working on board safe voyages and smooth sailing.

 


    As the ceremony drew to a close, attendees boarded the S1065 to admire the fine craftsmanship and technical prowess displayed in every detail of the ship. Godmother Riri Hisatomi personally sounded the ship's whistle from the bridge, marking the official departure of the 7,200 cbm dual-fuel ethylene gas carrier on its maiden voyage towards new horizons.

 


    Later that day, a solemn handover signing ceremony was held in the conference room, where representatives from both sides signed the documents. This moment signifies not only the successful collaboration between CIMC SOE and Hartmann Group but also lays a solid foundation for deeper cooperation in the future.
