On August 5th, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore&Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CIMC SOE") successfully shipped the first 4,600 cubic meter LNG shipboard fuel tank (Project No. T128) built for NAMURA Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "NAMURA") from its Qidong wharf.
It is understood that the project is classed by NK and the FGSS system integrator is SUNBO, a South Korean company. The fuel tank measures 32 meters in length and 14 meters in diameter, with the combined weight of the tank and its cradle totaling approximately 530 tons. It will be installed on a Newcastlemax bulk carrier being constructed by NAMURA.
During the construction process, the CIMC SOE project team, adhering to product requirements and the company's quality management system, met the stringent demands of NAMURA's on-site supervision team, SUNBO's on-site supervision team, NYK's owner's supervision team, as well as the strict requirements from headquarters of the Japanese and South Korean companies. The project was ultimately delivered on schedule and to a high standard.
Given that this project involved an open TCS platform measuring 20 meters long and 7.3 meters wide, the piping and electrical design for the fuel handling system were complex, and the construction was challenging. The project team proactively planned ahead and formulated solutions based on the actual site conditions. With the active cooperation of the design team, various installation issues that arose on-site were effectively addressed, ensuring that the project milestones could be completed according to the planned schedule. This earned high praise from clients, shipbuilders, and ship owners alike.
Moving forward, CIMC SOE will continue to place customers at the center of its operations, actively respond to diverse customer needs within the industry, and earn the full trust of clients through advanced design technologies, professional construction capabilities, and reliable delivery quality. The company is committed to consistently producing high-quality fuel tanks, achieving excellence in the industry, accelerating the process of high-quality development, and making a greater contribution to the prosperity and advancement of the sector.
