Recently, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co.,LTD.(hereinafter referred to as “CIMC SOE”) signed a contract order for a 12500 cubic meters LNG bunkering vessel with Spanish shipowner Scale Gas Company.
Scale Gas founded in 2017 and part of the Spanish energy group Enagas, which is the independent owner and operational leader of small-scale LNG, bio-LNG and renewable gas infrastructure in Spain and the Western Mediterranean region. Scale Gas owns and operates two LNG bunkering vessels, a small LNG terminal and more than 20 CNG/LNG and H2 bunkering stations currently.
The project will be independently carried out concept design and production design by CIMC SOE, the whole ship LNG loading capacity of 12500 cubic meters, the use of electric propulsion system, with good maneuverability, can meet the LNG bunkering for the ship’s handling requirements, and the ship design will be in accordance with the current effective ship and gas transport refueling specifications.
It is reported that the demand for new energy ships is increasing with the International Maritime Organization(IMO) global shipping greenhouse gas emission reduction strategy continues to advance, in the context of green and low-carbon shipping transformation acceleration, ship manufacturing maybe usher in a new outbreak. As a kind of clean energy, the greenhouse gas emissions generated by the combustion of LNG is much lower than traditional fossil energy, and it is one of the most widely used new marine fuels.
