On the afternoon of June 26, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore&Engineering Co.,Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as “CIMC SOE”) held a launching ceremony for the second 8200m³LNG bunkering vessel S1059 built for Italian shipowner Fratelli Cosulich Group. Shipowner representative Diana LAI CHAN MOK, Pierpalol Vinciguerra and resident project team, Italian classification society director of China Operations Luigi Mattera, new shipbuliding in China manager Cheng Yifeng, CIMC Enric deputy president and CIMC SOE general manager Gao Wenbao, CIMC SOE deputy general manager Wang Jianding, Lou Jiwei, Zhou Lubin and project teams attended the ceremony.
The ship’s godmother Giana LAI CHAN MOK said in her speech that Fratelli Cosulich Group named the second LNG bunkering vessel for “Paolina Cosulich”. With the new regulations set by the IMO in 2030 and 2050 aimed at reducing carbon emissions, the Group is committed to playing a role in this decarbonisation process as a shipowner and shipping fuel supplier. On behalf of Fratelli Cosulich Group directorate and family, she expressed her sincere thanks to CIMC SOE’s project staff for making success.
Wang Xinghua, shipbuilding project management department of CIMC SOE, who gave a speech on behalf of project team as the ship’s project manager, expressing his gratitude for the arrival of the guests and their permanent support and help to the company’s project team. It only took three months for the ship from the berth to the launch, such achievements couldn’t have been achieved without the support of the site shipowner, ship inspection and company leaders. After that, the company’s project team was confident and determined to deliver the ship ahead of schedule.
At the ceremony, CIMC Enric deputy president and CIMC SOE general manager Gao Wenbao presented flowers to Godmother on behalf of the shipyard to express gratitude. In the future, CIMC SOE will continue to work with all partners to actively expand CIMC’s business development, which march toward to intelligent, green and high-end, and promote the development of green intelligent ship industry to create a domestic green intelligent standardized ship model.
As a bottle of champagne broke the bow of the ship, firecrackers sounded, and the ship S1059 was launched smoothly in the warm applause of the guests at the scene.
The launch of the 8200m³LNG bunkering vessel is the second of two vessels, the previous sister ship has been successfully launched at the end of March. This project is another ship project undertaken by CIMC SOE which customized for shipowners according to customers’ needs, the ship has a total length of 113 meters, a moulded width of 20 meters, a moulded depth of 13.5 meters, a structure draft of 6.5 meters, with electric propulsion, the ship is equipped with dual fuel generator sets and efficient full rotary thrusters, which have complete LNG bunkering function.
The successful launch of the bunkering vessel project marks a breakthrough made by CIMC SOE in strategic planning and technical equipment over the years. In the future, we will continue to work with all partners to constantly improve the added value of products and service capabilities, while consolidate the advantages of market occupancy, we will try our best to complete the project construction task on time, and achieve the global “double carbon” goal.
